About Ohladida
Hi, I thought you might like to know the person behind the emails you'll be receiving. My name is Sandie Pope, the originator of Ohladida. I'm over 60, but in my mind I feel like I'm 30. Know what I mean? Originally from Louisville, KY—my life has taken me to live in New York, Jackson Hole, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle and now Orcas Island, WA. I've had numerous jobs and careers—from fashion rep and chambermaid to business owner and Interior Designer (and now one of hundreds of thousands laid off in 2009)—and a number of husbands along the way. It's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs and I've learned something from every ride.
A couple of years ago I realized that no one in the media was talking to me—or to you for that matter if you're over 50 and into your 60's. Women over 40 have MORE magazine and AARP may say it's for people over 50, but is anyone really thrilled to see a copy of the magazine in their mailbox. Either way, neither of these fit my MO.
I'm not into my last hurrah
I'm living my hurrah.
So, I decided to fill this void and speak to you through this website. Ohladida is a free on line information source from me to you, arriving in your email box once a week. I'll send you links to informative websites on an array of interesting topics as well as my take on how to navigate life—relationships—divorce—addiction—life changes—reinventing—making the world a better place—and everything else that is pertinent to our lives.
Whether a friend has sent you this email or you have subscribed, if we're not friends yet I hope we become so soon. Please contact me () and let me know what you think of the site and pass on topics that you would like to see discussed.
I hope to hear from you soon. We have a lot to talk about!
